The Dress

It’s time to do what most people dream of, find your dream wedding dress. You are probably inspired by a Disney Princess gown and have been dreaming of this moment your whole life. You know exactly what you want, exactly how you want it.

Well, we’re here to tell you to throw all of the dreams away and open your mind. Because to find the perfect dress for you, you’ll have to have an open mind.

Maybe at one point you thought you wanted the perfect princess ball gown; but you decided to get married at the beach. Or you thought you wanted a beautiful sheath dress, but your venue is in the forest. There are a few things you have to consider when choosing your perfect gown.

The wedding dress was originally designed and worn to bring luck and fortitude into the marriage at hand; however now, you dress to impress. What is going to look great on you, what is going to match your venue setting, and what is going to flow well with the other dresses/tuxes you choose for your wedding party to wear.

Now, throwing away the idea of what you have wanted your whole life is easier said than done. The trick with wedding dresses is it is not one size fits all and if you’ve never worn a gown before, you’ll have no idea how the gown is going to look on. Which is pretty big deal. You want your gown to be comfortable, your style, and more importantly, you want to feel fantastic in it.

And you won’t know how each gown is going to look on until you try them all on. So be prepared for clips, clamps, straps and zippers because you’re going dress shopping!

A Line Gown

An A-Line gown is a classic cut dress. Flattering on almost everyone, and the skirt and bodice combination will accentuate your biggest assets. With an A-Line gown you almost can’t go wrong. Add lace, tulle, satin or whatever fabric you like the best and this style gown is ready to go.

The Ball Gown

Was your favorite movie growing up Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast? The ball gown is a classic style dress that will look beautiful on everyone but not everywhere. Ballgowns are best at wineries, classic ball rooms, hotel weddings and mostly anything indoors.

You could even make your skirt detachable and have a shorter more form fitting skirt underneath for a dual ceremony & reception look!

Mermaid

A mermaid style and trumpet style dress are popular and beautiful. A modern day favorite. Show off your curves and neckline and have a long train for dramatic effect. Mermaid dresses tend to work well with lots of customization, lace, and all of the extra accessories. You can wear this dress in an y fabric setting and have it as dramatic or subtle as you would like. It’s so versatile!

Sheath

The most casual of dresses. A sheath dress comes in many different forms and many different style but one thing remains constant. The fabric, sheath dresses are usually less form fitting, cling to the body, and hang loosely in all the right places. A sheath dress looks amazing on the beach, in a backyard, or anywhere else for that matter!

You can’t go wrong with any dress as long as you feel comfortable in it. We have a list of highly recommended dress shops in your city and are ready to help you decide what dress will go best with your wedding.
