The Big 3.

Did you just say yes? Saying yes to your forever person is a huge deal and there is no doubt that you are not only head over heels, but you are also wondering… what comes next?

We’ve all been there and you may seem stressed or think you don’t know, but with a little bit of coffee and the new sparkly accessory on your finger, you got this.

There are 3 big things that will change the way you plan your wedding and make your life easier that you should take care of first.

Venue.

Location, location, LOCATION.

Just like they say in Real Estate, a wedding venue is no different. The location of your nuptials should be a place that you both love. A place you feel comfortable, and a place that you can stretch your ideas into.

When thinking about your location, you have to think of a few things.

  • How many people can they accommodate?

  • Do they provide the food and decor?

  • Do they have a picturesque backdrop that you’re going to remember for the rest of your life?

Once your venue is solidified, so many other things will fall into place.

Style

Black tie? Casual? Rustic? You name it, your style is yours. Before you choose your venue, or anything else, you should choose your style. Your style is going to be a reflection of you and the person you tie the knot with. Do you like barns and lanterns or ball rooms and bow ties? Whichever you choose, make sure it’s something that is a true reflection of who you are as a person.

Budget

Probably the most important of the 3. How much do you plan on spending and on what? Do you want an all inclusive venue? Or do you want to spend individually on each peace of your wedding puzzle.

When creating your budget, the biggest problem most people come across is not accounting for the little things. 30% of what you think you’re going to spend, you’re going to have to add at the end of the entire process. This is usually because the small items, (change of shoes for the reception, back up lipstick, even certain travel expenses) are often forgotten in the initial planning portion of the budget.

At the end of the day, your wedding is going to be the best day of your life and it should be as easy as saying I do.
